Community access
Approved members can connect into the BAO PBX network and call other people in the community.
BAO PBX is a community-led phone system powered by FreePBX, built for approved people, groups, makers and small projects on a shared global voice network.
A friendly, experimental community PBX built on FreePBX for people who like voice, phones, networks and having a real voice network without needing to run a full phone system themselves.
Approved members can connect into the BAO PBX network and call other people in the community.
The project is global by design. The idea is simple: connect people through a shared community voice platform.
FreePBX sits at the heart of the service, making it ideal for homelab users, makers, hobbyists and anyone interested in PBX, VoIP and internet telephony.
BAO PBX is kept member-managed, with FreePBX handling the core PBX features behind the scenes.
New members share who they are, where they are based, and how they want to use the community PBX.
New members are checked manually to protect the network from abuse, spam and misuse.
Once approved, you receive your SIP connection details and setup information.
Use a softphone, desk phone or compatible SIP client to join the BAO PBX community.
Tell us who you are, where you are based, and how you want to use the community PBX. Applications are reviewed manually so the network stays useful, safe and protected from abuse.
If the application does not load, open it in a new tab.
BAO PBX is designed to be useful, fun and safe. Access can be refused, limited or removed where needed to protect the service and other users.
